What this children residential role involves.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and development of the home, ensuring children receive high-quality, personalised care and support.

You will:

  • Lead and develop a strong, child-centred team.
  • Establish the culture, values and standards of the new home.
  • Ensure care is safe, nurturing and focused on positive outcomes for children.
  • Oversee care planning, safeguarding, risk management and recording.
  • Support the recruitment, induction, training and development of staff.
  • Work closely with children, families, professionals and external agencies.
  • Maintain strong regulatory and safeguarding standards.
  • Prepare the home and team for Ofsted inspection and ongoing regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of care and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide strong leadership, supervision and support to the staff team.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced children’s residential professional who is ready to take ownership and make a genuine difference.

You should have:

  • Previous management experience within children’s residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children’s residential regulations.
  • Experience leading, supervising and developing staff.
  • A child-centred approach and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes.
  • Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications within children’s residential care/management.
  • The ability to work confidently and take ownership of the home’s development.
