Registered Manager - Children’s Learning Disabilities Home Location: Retford, Nottinghamshire Salary: £50,000 - £57,000 per annum + up to £10,000 quality/performance bonus Type: Full-time

Introduction

Are you an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager with a background in children's residential care? Could you lead a new children's home while creating a safe, nurturing environment where young people with learning disabilities can thrive?

We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a newly registered children's residential home in Retford, supporting young people aged 7-18 with learning disabilities and associated needs.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a new service, build a strong team and establish a high standard of care from the outset.

Job Specification • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the children's residential home. • Provide strong leadership to the care team, promoting a positive, supportive and child-centred culture. • Ensure the home provides high-quality, individualised care that meets each young person's needs and promotes their development and independence. • Lead on safeguarding and ensure the welfare and protection of children remain central to all aspects of the service. • Ensure the home operates in accordance with Ofsted requirements, relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies. • Develop, implement and review care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures. • Recruit, induct, supervise and develop staff, ensuring the team has the skills and support required to provide effective care. • Monitor staff performance, practice standards and training requirements. • Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers, education providers and other professionals. • Maintain accurate records and ensure the home is consistently prepared for inspections.

Candidate Requirements • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within children's residential care. • Strong experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and/or complex needs. • Level 5 qualification (or working towards it) in Leadership and Management for Children's Residential Care, or equivalent, in line with Ofsted requirements. • Good understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children's residential care standards. • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a residential care team. • Strong knowledge of care planning, risk management and safeguarding procedures. • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with professionals, families and external agencies.
