Job Specification

As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner, you will work as part of the care team to provide high-quality support to children and young people within the home. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing day-to-day care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. - Supporting young people with personal care, daily routines, activities and community engagement. - Building positive, trusting relationships with young people and promoting their independence. - Supporting the implementation and review of individual care plans and risk assessments. - Supporting young people with behaviours that may present challenges using appropriate, person-centred approaches. - Working effectively with colleagues, families, social workers and other professionals involved in the young person's care. - Participating in team meetings, training and ongoing professional development. - Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home and maintaining a safe, positive environment.

Candidate Requirement

We are looking for someone who is caring, reliable and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. You should have: - Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential care setting. - A Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or an equivalent relevant qualification, or be willing to work towards one. - Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs. - A good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. - A willingness to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins where required. - A full UK driving licence.
